LSVT BIG® for Parkinson’s Disease
Neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to form new connections is the foundation for the treatment of LSVT BIG® . LSVT® is a treatment approach for people with Parkinson’s disease that addresses the cognitive aspects of the disease, leading to significant improvements in function, balance, and gait.
Patients are given specific exercises involving large amplitude and exaggerated movement patterns. Research conducted by the National Institutes of Health reveal that this therapy leads to smoother, larger, and safer movements as well as improved quality of life. High intensity exercises is also shown to delay the progress of falling dopamine levels in the body.
Fall Prevention Programs
At Dynamic, our physical therapy team specializes in evidence-based fall prevention techniques. Our experts conduct comprehensive multi-system assessments to identify the underlying causes of balance issues. Based on these findings, your therapist will develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals.
According to the CDC, one in four adults aged 65 and older falls each year, and falls are the leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries among older adults. Our fall prevention programs are designed to reduce this risk and help you maintain independence and safety.
Our team is equipped to assess whether the BalanceWear® vest, an innovative and non-invasive stabilizing device, may benefit your balance and postural control in some individuals with neurological and orthopedic conditions.
